Depending on where your money currently is, there are several ways to deposit funds into your Cheese account. Here are a few of the most common ways. If you have issues or don’t find a way on this list that works for you, please get in touch with our support team and we’ll have someone help you get set up🤗!

Ways to Deposit Money Into Your Cheese Account

Transfer Funds Straight From Your Bank

The easiest way to deposit funds into your Cheese account is to send money from your existing bank accounts to your Cheese account.

If your bank supports ACH or P2P, you can initiate transfers from those accounts to your Cheese account. You may need to provide them with your Cheese routing and account number, which can be found in the app here:

Request Funds From Your Bank

From within the app, you can link your external bank account using Plaid. Once your account is connected, you can request a transfer from your current bank account to your Cheese account. Do keep in mind, though, that these transfers can take up to five business days to be credited to your account.

You can start that process right in the app here:

Direct Deposit

Don’t want to transfer money from account to account? Just have money directly deposited into your Cheese account, making it your principal bank account!

This is the best option for fast, consistent, and easy access to your paycheck. Sign up for direct deposit to have ALL or part of your paycheck automatically deposited to your Cheese account.

You might even be eligible to receive your direct deposit up to 2 days early. You can find everything you need to request a direct deposit from your employer from within the app here:

Wire Transfer

As is the case with a normal traditional bank account, you can wire funds domestically or from an international institution to your Cheese account. Do keep in mind that each financial institution sets their own rates for wire transfer fees, so check with them before you initiate a transfer like this.

Initiate a Zelle Transfer

If you have Zelle, you can use it as a middleman between your current bank account and your new Cheese account. Follow these instructions below to link Zelle to your Cheese account:

  • Download the Zelle app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
  • Sign up with your mobile number and log into the app.
  • When prompted to choose a bank, search for Cheese.
  • You will see an option that says “Don’t see your bank listed?” Choose that option.
  • Verify your email if asked.
  • Enter your debit card information exactly as you see it in the Cheese app. Please make sure that the debit card is currently active. Make sure that you also enter your address exactly how you see it in the Cheese app.
  • If prompted to contact Zelle customer support, you will need to do that in order to verify your account information.

*Errors with Zelle

Some users have encountered issues connecting Zelle with their Cheese account. If an error comes up that says “invalid debit card number,” it could be because you copied and pasted it from the Cheese app and Zelle flags it as invalid. Manually typing in your Cheese card number can help avoid this issue.

If you are still having trouble, it’s most likely due to an internal Zelle security feature that stops customers from creating a Zelle account. We would suggest contacting Zelle customer support for more information in that case!
